Transperth provides rail, bus and ferry public transport services in greater metropolitan Perth, Western Australia. Transperth’s educational program, Get On Board, connects thousands of future and first-time public transport users to the Transperth network each year – particularly building the confidence of students, seniors, people with disability and those who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
Transperth provides online curriculum-based resources and experiential programs on board buses, trains and ferries, and at stations. The programs and resources equip schools and communities with the knowledge and skills to use public transport safely and independently, whilst also understanding the importance of public transport for a sustainable community. Public transport is a real-life topic that will engage and challenge students in a range of learning areas. Transperth’s education team is passionate about educating others to the personal, community and environmental benefits of using public transport. Lessons are designed to spark ideas in a range of learning areas that can be incorporated into existing classroom programs.
