The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) is home to Australia’s nuclear science and technical expertise.
Researchers are using nuclear facilities and techniques to help find cures for cancer and other diseases, make breakthroughs in clean energy production, create new materials, gain new understandings about the environment, and support Australian industries.
As custodian of some of Australia’s most significant scientific infrastructure, including Australia’s only nuclear research reactor and the Australian Synchrotron, ANSTO is using nuclear science to benefit industry, people and the environment.
ANSTO Education supports Australian teachers and students by providing free curriculum-linked education programs and resources about nuclear science, including:
– Teacher Professional Development programs
– Excursions of the Lucas Heights campus
– Online resources, including workbooks, posters, games, videos and more
– Videoconferences, where schools can talk with scientists, perform experiments with radiation, and learn more about nuclear science and it’s applications
