Documenting Dairy

This learning sequence encourages students to discover stories about the contribution people make to their communities, past and present. Students investigate how dairy farmers and others in the dairy industry have contributed to Australian society.

Students use a range of stories and videos about people’s feelings and attachment to places like dairy farms, dairy products and artefacts from dairy’s past, to explore these contributions and factors that influence people’s attachment to place, food and history.

Students are given the opportunity to imagine what it would be like to be an investigator and they use research and their creative powers to bring their stories to life about these contributions, by creating a 3–5 minute presentation about dairy farmers, others in the dairy industry or dairy’s history.
